A Brief History
The Grande was purchased as a derelict building identified as at risk of demolition. The historic Managers Residence had already been lost. All that was left of the Grande's former history was it's shell and a few remnants of its creek side garden. The Grande was purpose built in the late 20's to provide acommodation for the historic Hepburn Springs Bathouse.
Through our "Grande Again" project we received Australian Tourism Development support to help restore the 'historically valuable icon' to it's rightful position as a spa tourism destination in Hepburn Springs.
Since re-opening we've been surprised by the number of visitors wanting to tour the 'resurrected' building. And even more surprised by the number of people supportive of our work to save heritage buildings.
We're pleased that many of these people have returned to stay, dine, or use the facilites...on several occasions!
....and that led us to thinking!
The Grande Club
The Club has two primary functions: firstly and foremostly, to provide our guests with a rewards based membership for their valued support, and secondly, to provide more of a community focus for ongoing environmental and heritage projects at The Grande. Projects will use membership funds to contribute towards the rebuilding of the historic Kitchen Garden and commencement of the Creek front restoration.
